Learn About A TLC Student's Responsibilities
As a TLC Student or Intern I commit to:
- Serving with a willing and joyful spirit
- Learning with a humble and teachable spirit
- Living in community with compassion, respect and integrity
- Maintaining a growing devotional life
- Participating fully in all TLC activities and events
- Building healthy, respectful with my fellow interns as well as with TLC and Church leaders
- Living within the Boundaries of the TLC community. These boundaries include:
- Living in full compliance with the law
- Pursuing excellence, integrity and honesty in all my work and service
- Abstaining from alcohol and tobacco even if I am of Legal age
- No one-on-one dating in my first year as a student with TLC
- Please understand that this guideline is intended to maximize your experience. We have learned that students preoccupied with dating lose two ways – first, they are distracted from the primary goal of TLC which is to equip, develop and inspire spiritual growth and leadership and secondly, relationships begun hastily are never as strong as those that grow out of deeper understanding and friendship. It is better all the way around to grow as a community and grow to know each other without the extra tensions and anxieties of exclusive dating relationships.
- Respecting the guidelines of where I live (host home or WJU residence)
- Taking full responsibility for my financial obligations to TLC and WJU
- Taking responsibility for my personal transportation needs from my residence to Bayside
